My New Favorite Band

Now, saying that I have a favorite band might not say a lot.  I love music, almost all of it, and I have quite a few favorite bands, which change rather steadily and rapidly. There are a few, however, which have remained on the top of my list.  Death Cab for Cutie, She & Him, Priscilla Ahn, and Meiko are a few that I've been stuck on for a while.  I have a new favorite though.  First Aid Kit.  They are hauntingly beautiful.  I have had their EP, Drunken Trees, running through my head for the last 48 hours, since I first listened to their cover of Fleet Foxes' 'Tiger Mountain Peasant Song.'

I can't take full credit for their discovery, though.  While perusing different knitterly blogs, I discovered The Life of Me, to which I am eternally grateful for introducing me to the fantastic-ness that is First Aid Kit.  And, even more good news!  The band is coming out with a new album, a full 11 (my lucky number!) tracks, at the end of January, just in time for second semester!

Speaking of second semester, I have fantastic news- my scheduling is done.  I was blessed with an early registration period, and therefore was able to get into all of the classes I wanted.  I am disappointed to not be in a creative writing class I was drooling over, but there's always next semester.  Besides, my advisor encouraged me to branch out and try out some subjects I have never been interested in before.  Well, after trying astronomy this semester, I am fairly certain that science is not for me, so I'm trying out anthropology and sociology, history, and continuing with my foreign language.  Hopefully I will either find something I am passionate about or cross a few potential career options off the list!  The beauty of college- it's all about exploration!  (But, if you're me, you keep it on the safe side and only explore in the classroom!)

Gorgeous <3  everyone should buy their CD!  It's fantastic, and the new one is sure to be equally incredible.
