The Beauty of Beatrix Potter (now in HD!)

So for the last week this song has been stuck in my head.  I  remember hearing it when I was little on a Beatrix Potter video I used to watch.  Those videos were just gorgeous- they always began and ended by showing sweeping scenes of rolling counryside, Potter creating watercolor illustrations with her dog by her side, wildlife all around, children playing and singing.  It is just so poetic- truly a piece of art- ending with Potter rushing through the forest to get back to her cottage before the rain, and, upon arrival, making a nice up of tea.  Those videos might just be what have made me so obsessed with 'coziness' today- I absolutely adore the rain (when I'm inside!)  I love wearing pajamas and drinking hot chocolate and knitting or reading or watching a movie and snuggling up in bed or a big chair and feeling safe.  It is the best feeling in the whole world.  And this video is just perfection.

Speaking of cozy, my spiral cowl is progressing beautifully!  And the yarn for Smith should be here any day now.  Perhaps I will name him after the hedgehog in this video...

Also, I got both of my midterms back today, and I am quite satisfied with the results.  They weren't perfect, but I feel like for my first semester in college, I didn't do too terribly.  I also know what I need to work on next time to make my studying more effective, like actually doing the readings.  I will fill you in on how that goes- because here, there's no 'instant homework gratification,' no reading check quizzes like there were in high school, and it's somewhat of a strange transition to have to do it all on my own without any checkups, and then face the consequences if I don't.  Especially when my knitting is sitting right there and looks so tempting...

I totally understand what you mean about it being hard to choose between homework and knitting, especially if theoretically you could catch up on the homework later (which you never do, of course).
I'll be finishing my Master's degree soon and I wish I could tell you that it gets easier over time as you get immersed into academic society. It doesn't. Either you have the self discipline or you don't, and I don't. :D
